Mission/Vision of the company

The mission of this Berlin-based start-up is to bring long-lasting and peaceful perspectives. By enabling direct and fair trade with small-scale local farmers, the company aims to strengthen local structures in conflict-stricken regions. The company’s idea is to strengthen farmers in conflict regions through traditional trade and to give them new perspectives.

Internship

At the moment, this company partners with local farmers in Afghanistan, Palestine and Myanmar. This autumn, their plan is to extend these partnerships to Syria and to work together with local Syrian farmers. For this exciting new stage of market extension, all helping hands are welcome. You will get the opportunity to accompany the company's social pioneer project during this exciting phase of market expansion. Next to that, you will gain hands-on experience in a young social enterprise with a large network of different NGOs and politics. The working hours are flexible (30-40h/week) and home office is – after consultation with the team and in certain circumstances – also possible. Your office will be in hip & happening Berlin-Kreuzberg.

Profile Student

You are a flawless communicator – online and offline. You know how to create entertaining and interesting content and you have an excellent command of the English language - German is a plus since we speak German in the office (but hey, see it as a bonus: a free language course ;-)). You work proactively, independently and you are enthusiastic about creating sustainable and long-term perspectives for farmers and their families in conflict regions. Your background is ideally in business administration, communication, journalism, marketing, media or similar. You would be available for at least 3 months, preferably up to 6 months.

Daily tasks

• Join the crowdfunding food campaign from Palestine and prepare their in-house printed newspaper about Palestine
• PR and press relations, press releases and media coverage
• Support the social media manager and create entertaining and interesting content for different channels (blog articles, short videos, ...)
• In cooperation with the team, prepare and follow up on events
• Prepare the in-house newspaper about Palestine together with the team
• Support in scientific and journalistic research
• Different daily administration tasks – the company has a small team, so every helping hand is welcome
