What did you think of the city?

The city of London is amazing, there is always something happening everywhere. London is the largest city in Europe, and you can really feel that in the hustle and bustle of the city. Luckily, you get used to it pretty quickly, but sometimes you do crave some peace and fresh air. A good tip for this is to head to a park. I personally go to St. James Park and Green Park a lot, as they are close to my internship address and I can walk there during my breaks. London has a beautiful historic center, and I definitely recommend walking along the Thames to enjoy the architecture and history of the city.

What did you think of the internship?

I am very happy with my internship, very nice people, and a valuable learning experience so far. Companies in London really appreciate Dutch interns because we often speak English very well. I work at a real estate agency in Central London, and this gives me the chance to view special projects like the "Battersea" project and attend presentations by the developers and architects of the project.

The weather was great that day, and with friends, I enjoyed the Irish music, traditions, and of course, Guinness beer!
What is the most special thing you have experienced?

The most special thing I've experienced so far was St. Patrick’s Day at Trafalgar Square. On this holiday, everyone in London is celebrating, and a huge outdoor festival was organized at Trafalgar Square. The weather was fantastic that day, and with friends, I enjoyed Irish music, traditions, and of course, Guinness beer!

Do you have any tips for students?

Make sure you have enough budget for London, as the costs here are significantly higher than what you’re used to in the Netherlands. Room rent is very expensive, and you’ll easily pay 5 pounds for a pint. Another tip is to avoid the tube as much as possible and enjoy walking around the city. In the city center, the distances are not that big, and by walking, you’ll get to know the city much better.

What score would you give your experience?
