What did you think of the city?
Amazing! London is and always will be an incredible city, not only because everything you need is right around you, but especially because the people are very kind. They're polite and always willing to help you. This is something we, as Dutch people, can learn from...
What did you think of the internship?
The internship is really fun. You learn a lot about marketing, especially about online marketing, which has been booming in recent years and continues to grow rapidly. My English improved significantly in a short time, and this internship also helps me figure out what I want to do later in life.
Tips for students?
Try to live in a relatively central location, because if you live far out, the rent savings will just be spent on transportation. Avoid living in student accommodations—they’re very commercial, and you'll have to pay for everything you want to do within the accommodation (like laundry, renting a bed for guests, going to the gym, etc.).
Before starting your internship, try to go to London and arrange a room. Be careful with online listings, as you might get scammed, and some rooms are in terrible condition. It's better to rent directly without using an agency, as they charge a lot of extra fees.
London is an expensive city. Be prepared for this, for example, by canceling your public transport card—this saves you €99 per month (every little bit helps!). Also, register early for the Erasmus grant; it can save you a lot of money.
