East or West, Home is Best! (September 5, 2017)

Time flies when you’re having fun! I only just realized how fast the last two weeks have gone by. Last Monday, I started working at the company where I will be doing my internship. I am so happy I found this internship. My colleagues all come from different countries and cultures. Everyone is really nice and the atmosphere in the office is very cozy and cheerful. I have never worked full-time before, like 38 hours a week, so honestly, I still need to get used to it a bit.

Besides that, I finally found a room, and I can’t describe how happy I am about that! In the coming months, I will be living in Gracia, a very nice neighborhood. My housemates are three Spanish guys my age, and they are all very kind. My parents also came over to help me with moving my stuff and to make the room cozy and nice for me! I am completely excited about the result, amazing! In the first photo below, you can see how it looked before.

Estoy muy feliz (September 12, 2017)

The third week is already over, and it was really amazing (again)! This was the first week in my new house, and so far it’s going great. The guys I live with are very relaxed and funny. Last Tuesday, they invited me to grab a drink somewhere. We went to a square (Plaza del Sol) where everyone sits on the ground and drinks together—not a normal bar: everyone brings their own drinks.

In general, a lot of people come to visit me at home, and I really enjoy it. This way, I meet many new people from Spain, and I am very motivated to actually learn Spanish, which is why I put post-its all over the house. Almost everything in the house now has a label or sticker with the Spanish meaning and translation on it. Sometimes it’s really hard to put into words how much I’m enjoying myself here; there are no words to describe my happiness!

On the weekend, I went for brunch in the park. I went together with some of my friends from Armand University (see the photo below). The party we went to is comparable to a small festival in a park. On the way there, we had to climb a hill. When we looked beside us, I saw the most beautiful view I have seen so far. I could see the entire city; it was so beautiful!

The Golden Hour (November 4, 2017)

Sometimes it’s nice to take a moment for yourself and clear your head. Besides the fact that Barcelona is a huge and busy city, there is also a very beautiful beach. The weather is no longer extremely sunny at the moment, but it’s still perfect for a good walk, so that’s what I did. Have you ever heard of the golden hour? This is the time when the sun is about to set, and you have a stunning view over the sea. It is said this is the best moment to take photos!

Afterwards, I invited two friends to join me at the beach. Later we ended up at the CDLC, sitting on the terrace enjoying a delicious bottle of wine. A perfect way to end the weekend!

Sunny greetings from beautiful Barcelona!!
