Hello everyone,

I was thinking about how to start the very first blog of my life. But hey, there’s a “first time” for everything. Right now, I’m in a really exciting position. You might have already guessed that I’m from the Netherlands, but what you might not have known is that I moved to Spain last week, where I’ll be for the next six months, YAAAY!! :D

I am an international business student at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. Last week, I started my third year, which means I have to do an internship for one semester. Since I’m studying an international program, I chose to do my internship abroad.

It was really hard to choose a country because there are so many places on my bucket list that I still really want to visit. I talked with many people about my choice and came to the conclusion that there’s one city I only heard good things about — BARCELONA IT IS!! This is how it all started (four months ago), and now I’m here.

So, I arrived last Tuesday. Based on advice from others, I decided not to book a long-term room before arriving in Barcelona. For the first three days, I stayed at the TOC Hostel. Even though I’m definitely not a hostel girl, it was still a very nice stay. I was lucky with my roommates — they were all guys (7) — and the hostel was very clean and cozy! I was very happy when I found a room through Facebook where I could stay the following days. I’m still here now (Saints). This was more so that I would have more privacy and comfort instead of having to share everything. It just depends on your preference.

At this moment, I’m still in this room, but two days ago I found a room for the long term that I’m also very excited about. This coming Saturday I’m moving there—more about that in my next blog! I really enjoy decorating my new room because it will be my new home for the next six months. I can’t wait! If you have any decoration tips, definitely share them with me!

Besides looking for rooms, I’ve also started exploring the city. At first glance, everything looks so cute and cozy—I’m already completely in love with Barcelona! Last Sunday I went to brunch by myself (I was sooo alone, haha!), but everything on the menu looked so good. In the end, I went for avocado toast with a fresh orange juice, it was delicious! It’s so fun to discover more new places like this. If you have more tips, please hit me up!

Yesterday (Monday, August 28) I started my first day at my internship. By the end of the day, I was so tired because there was so much new information, but besides really enjoying it, I’m also really looking forward to the coming days, weeks, and months!

So everything looks good and I’m really enjoying myself! If you want more updates, you can find all my posts on my Instagram (Fleurance_). Let me know what you think and definitely share your stories/experiences with me!

Until next time!

BESOSSSS,

Fleurance
