Hi everyone!
My name is Famke van Duinen and here I am for my second blog. I’ve already been in New York for 5 months—time flies when you’re having fun... So much has happened in these months, and I’ve had the chance to experience so many amazing things.
One of the highlights was definitely jet skiing around Manhattan and under the Brooklyn Bridge. That’s definitely an experience I will never forget, and I can absolutely recommend it to everyone! I also booked a fun trip to Miami. I was surprised that Miami is actually quite close—it's just a short trip from New York. It’s really nice to book trips to other cities when you’re abroad for a longer time. The weather in Miami was wonderful and the sun was shining, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case anymore when I returned to New York…
I’m doing an internship at an event agency. During my internship, I’ve had the opportunity to organize some really cool events. It started with the 70th Anniversary for Ferrari. Ferrari cars were parked at various locations throughout New York, and different events were held around the city, ending at the Rainbow Room in Rockefeller Center. Besides that, I also got to organize the Charity Event for Beyond Type 1 in collaboration with Nick Jonas. We also organized a conference in Washington, where we went for four days.

My family and a close friend also came to New York to visit me. It was so much fun showing them the city and the places where I’ve spent the past few months. Of course, we saw all the highlights and walked all around the city.
Another thing I really enjoyed was attending The Late Night Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The best part was that two weeks before Christmas, he picked someone from the audience every day to win a Christmas sweater. Guess who that was... me, of course, haha. This was even broadcast on international TV, and every time I watch it back, I still laugh out loud!
Something else that was really special to experience was celebrating New Year’s Eve on a boat, sailing over the Hudson River around Manhattan. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much fireworks, but we really enjoyed the view. We entered the new year in a very special way!
Unfortunately, my time in New York is almost over… I have met so many wonderful people and experienced things I will never forget. It was a journey of a lifetime!
I would recommend everyone to do an internship abroad; it’s a very special experience.
New York, I’ll see you soon.
XOXO
